Among the distinguished brands that captivated the audience with their exceptional creations was Chanel. Stepping further into the realm of accessories, the illustrious French Maison has introduced a selection of innovative new models this year that are truly remarkable. CHANEL unveils new timepieces at Watches & Wonders 2024 

J12 Couture Workshop Automaton Caliber 6 

In a moment that surely evokes Coco Chanel’s celestial delight, Chanel unveiled the exquisite J12 Couture Workshop Automaton Caliber 6 at Watches & Wonders 2024. While some may underestimate the brand in the realm of haute horology, this timepiece stands as a testament to Chanel’s meticulous dedication to crafting intricate marvels. Featuring a whimsical animation of the iconic founder Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel immersed in her legendary couture workshop on rue Cambon, this latest creation pays homage to her enduring legacy.

This exceptional timepiece effortlessly harmonises design with the artistry of watchmaking. Adorned with diamonds and powered by Chanel’s innovative Caliber 6 movement, this limited-to-100 masterpiece comprises a remarkable 355 components. 

J12 Diamond Tourbillon Caliber 5 

While Chanel graced the horological world with the J12 Diamond Tourbillon watch back in 2022, this year marks the unveiling of a fresh interpretation. Showcasing a striking combination of matte black ceramic and white ceramic, what truly sets this watch apart is its exceptional movement—the Caliber 5. Introduced in 2022, this movement proves that Chanel has elevated its horological prowess to new heights since it is the Maison’s first in-house Flying Tourbillon movement.

Crafted from high-strength ceramic, this timepiece epitomises longevity and resilience, poised to navigate the passage of time with unwavering grace and durability. The case back proudly bears the brand’s distinctive lion’s head emblem. At the heart of the watch lies a captivating solitaire diamond set within the centre of the flying tourbillon cage, meticulously cut to enhance its brilliance. As it elegantly rotates with each passing second, the diamond casts a spellbinding allure that mesmerises all.

Pink Editions

Another of Chanel’s latest creations in haute horlogerie is the unveiling of two pink variations of the iconic BOY∙FRIEND watch. The first of these masterpieces is the limited edition X-RAY version, a horological marvel limited to just 55 pieces. Boasting a mesmerising sapphire crystal case back, this timepiece exudes a sense of transparency and modernity. Complementing its design is a luxurious pink quilted pattern calfskin strap with elegant gold lining. 

In a harmonious fusion of artistry and luxury, the second limited edition model showcases a captivating skeleton design encased in 18k beige gold. Adorned with 38 exquisite baguette-cut pink sapphires totalling 1.95 carats, the bezel and case of this watch exude a radiant aura, making it a true statement of opulence and style.

Besides the BOY∙FRIEND model, the brand has also created a pink edition of the J12 X-RAY. Seamlessly blending innovation and luxury, the machine, equipped with the Caliber 3.1, features sapphire components that create a captivating illusion of floating wheels. The 18k beige gold bezel, embellished with 46 baguette-cut pink sapphires, radiates timeless elegance and magical charm.

Monsieur. Superleggera Intense Black Edition Caliber 1

After joining forces with J12 Superleggera and the Monsieur in 2021, this year Chanel has decided to produce an ultra-black reinterpretation of this model, exuding masculine aesthetics. Seamlessly blending technical intricacy with visual elegance, the matte black variant pays homage to its inspiration drawn from the world of racing cars. Encased in a durable combination of ceramic and steel with a sleek black finish, the timepiece features a steel and sapphire crystal case back engraved with the inscription “LIMITED TO 100,” giving it a touch of exclusivity.
